Kirk

Kirk was an enlightening speaker and stimulated some very pivotal thoughts for me about leadership. One thing that he kept saying which stuck in my mind: "The bar is so low!" It only takes such a very tiny bit extra to elevate one to remarkable-leader status because expectations are just that low. Kirk had a lot to say and a lot of different ways to say it--stories, examples, catch-phrases--but all these revolved around a few key themes. A few of the things that Kirk liked to talk about were remarkability, visibility, and engagement.

Kirk was an incredible speaker. After the lecture I actually went home and showed my roommates the banana example. The way he put leadership strategies into stories and examples was interesting because I feel he related to everyone in the class. I feel speakers like Kirk can really put into perspective how you live you life. From the list of books he suggested reading I have already read a few and agree that they are great inspirational books. The Seven Habits of Highly effective People by Stephan Covey is a great book about personal growth and change. Leaders like Kirk and Covey can really change the way future employees view their role in the job force and can only inspire bigger and better things.
